Joan Lipitz

Joan is a seasoned commercial attorney, providing legal advice on a wide array of commercial matters for global enterprises, start-ups and technology companies, focusing on technology-related transactions and agreements.  
 

Joan has extensive in-house and law firm experience. She was a General Counsel for Opera Solutions, a privately held Big Data analytics solutions and advisory firm of over 650 employees, with offices and Fortune 1000 clients across the U.S., Europe and Asia. Previously Joan served as an associate general counsel at Capgemini, a global information technology services and consulting company, where, among her other responsibilities, she helped establish Capgemini Technologies, a hardware and software reselling subsidiary. She also worked as an associate group counsel at BearingPoint (formerly KPMG Consulting). Prior to that, she was an associate at major New York law firms, Thacher Proffitt & Wood and Seward & Kissel LLP, working on M&A, securities and corporate finance transactions. 
 

Among her community interests, Joan is Co-Chair of the Board of Cosmic Writers, a nonprofit supporting creative writing education for children, and as a Board Advisor for the Women’s Enterprise Action Loan Fund, a non-profit which helps women entrepreneurs by providing no and low-interest loans and mentoring.
